Ayurvedic Parenting: Understanding

Your Child Through the Elements

The Grange hall

Monday, January 26th @ 6:00–7:00 PM

with Kimberly Zimmerman

This parenting class introduces Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, as a practical and intuitive framework for understanding children and family life through the lens of the natural elements. Ayurveda teaches that the elements show up in everything — seasons, times of day, personalities, foods, activities, and emotional patterns — and that recognizing these patterns helps us parent with greater awareness and balance.

Together, we’ll explore how elemental energies influence behavior, emotions, and energy levels, and why certain parenting approaches work beautifully for one child but not another. You’ll gain insight into how daily rhythms, nourishment, and activities can either support or challenge balance — both for your child and for yourself.

This class offers a grounded, compassionate approach to parenting, helping you move from reaction to understanding, and from overwhelm to alignment. By learning to work with nature rather than against it, you’ll cultivate more patience, clarity, and empathy, and feel more confident in meeting your child (and yourself) exactly where you are.
